In a bizarre incident in Panipat district, Haryana, a 12-year-old girl alleged that she was kidnapped and molested by 10 men. However, during the investigation, it was found that the girl made up the story to escape from getting scolded for coming home late.
The girl on Monday alleged that she was kidnapped by 10 youths in a car, given sedatives and raped in a nearby field. The girl told the story to her father who filed a complaint. However, during the investigation, it was found that the girl came home late and hence cooked up a story to escape from her mother's wrath.
The girl retracted her statement before a magistrate in Panipat under Section 164 of the CrPC. The girl is currently being counselled.
