Cop investigating girl's murder rapes her minor sister

Mahendra Mishra, a sub-inspector attached to Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody on charges of raping a minor, police said on Wednesday, reports Hindustan Times.
 

Mahendra Mishra, who was in charge of the Mauganj station, initially put up the 15-year-old victim at a local lodge on July 26. The following day, he took the girl to his residence and allegedly raped her for three days and asked her to return to her hometown.

When the girl and her mother tried to lodge a police complaint, Mishra's colleagues tried to hush the matter but subsequently, it came to the knowledge of the senior officials who ensured he was booked under relevant sections.
