Most Recent: Major Aircraft 'Crash' Recorded Near IAF Base!

Around 10 am on September 25 (Wednesday), a MiG-21 trainer aircraft aka fighter jet crashed in Gwalior IAF base, Madhya Pradesh. Reports say that there were two pilots in the aircraft. It included a Group Captain and squadron leader. The reports from IAF reveal that both pilots managed to get out of the crashed fighter jet safely. However, there were no reports of injuries or disabilities, if any.

As per NDTV, an IAF officer belonging to the colonel rank has been involved in the case. It is expected that the officer will try to take as many leads as possible associated with the crash. Earlier in the month of February, IAF's Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopter crashed in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Unfortunately, 3 persons including 2 pilots died in the crash at Budgam. Later it was reported that the IAF aircraft crashed because of technical fault and weather.

In fact, in September 2016, a MiG-21 trainer crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer district. It was reported that the aircraft crashed near Uttarlai airforce station in Barmer. Tracing backwards, a MiG-27 fighter aircraft crashed on June 13, 2016, in a residential area in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district. Though there was no loss of any life, reports told some people suffered injuries on the ground.
