Shocking Video: Man Watches Family Being Washed Away In Landslide

The continuous rains in Kerala has disrupted normal life very badly. With the incessant rain, trains, flight and public transport has also been affected.

A chilling video from Kerala is making headlines all over where a man can be seen narrowly escaping gushing waters while his family was washed away after a landslide hit Mallapuram.

This sad incident took place around 2:00 pm on Friday. Till now, none of the missing persons have been found despite rescue operations.

As per News18 report, the man has been identified as Sarath, who was standing outside his home in Kottakunnu. He was talking to his mother when the mudslide suddenly appeared unexpectedly and uprooted everything around it.

In the CCTV visuals, the man and his mother identified as Sarojini, can be seen running and trying to escape. But it was only the man, who managed to survive as he reached the corner of his house in the nick of time.

The old mother was swept away as she could not run fast enough. Not just that, Sarath’s wife and one-and-half-year-old child, who were inside the house, were also trapped in the mudslide, News18 further reported.

Currently, the area’s deputy SP told The NewsMinute that all three - Sarojini (the man’s mother), Geethu (wife) and a one-and-a-half-year-old child - are likely to have died in the mud slide.

Till now, at least 42 people have been killed in the floods so far and more than one lakh have been shifted to relief camps.
