2 More COVID-19 Symptoms: Govt Includes These Symptoms As Indication of Coronavirus Infection!

The Centre on Saturday added two new symptoms of the infectious COVID-19 disease by health professionals as a reference. Loss of smell (anosmia) and loss of taste (ageusia) have been added to the list of coronavirus symptoms by the Union Health Ministry.  

While the other symptoms are; fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, expectoration, myalgia, rhinorrhea, sore throat and diarrhoea. Later, gastrointestinal health issues such as diarrhoea or vomiting were also added to this list. 

As per a NDTV report, the Health Ministry said direct person-to-person transmission occurs through close contact, that can happen mainly through respiratory droplets when the infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. 

"These droplets may also land on surfaces, where the virus remains viable. Infection can also occur if a person touchesan infected surface and then touches his or her eyes, nose or mouth," the document read.

COVID-19 are particularly vulnerable to those who are over 60 years while those with non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiac disease, are also at high risk.

Looking at the latest stats, India recorded the highest single-day jump of 11,458 fresh cases, taking the total number of cases to 3,08,993.
