TCS employee fired for issuing rape threats to women
Home > India news While #MeToo movement has been gaining momentum in India, companies are taking the extra step to ensure that the right message is being sent out regarding sexual harassment. Rahul Singh, a TCS employee from Kolkata has been sacked by the company for sending explicitly violent rape and death threats to two women on social media.
One of the women alleged that Singh threatened that he would kill her husband and son and then rape her. He verbally abused and threatened another 19-year-old woman from Assam, who then filed a complaint with the Kolkata police.
A spokesperson for TCS said, " At TCS we have zero tolerance towards any act which goes against our core values. The employee has been relieved with immediate effect."
The alleged perpetrator could not be contacted and has since deleted his social media accounts.
