Massive Jewellery Theft in Andhra Bank; Man Arrested
Home > News Shots > India newsFew days ago, Lalitha Jewellery became the talk of the town after a massive robbery was orchestrated by popular thief Thiruvaarur Murugan. While the case is still fresh among the people, another theft from the region of Chittoor, Andhra has been reported.
As per Polimer report, 11.5 Kgs of Gold ornaments along with rupees 2 lakh 66 thousand were stolen from the locker of an Andhra Bank. During the process of investigation, the police officers held a person named Ramesh who worked as the Jewellery appraiser at the bank. Later it was revealed that it was the bank employee Ramesh who used duplicate keys to steal the Jewellery and cash.
Further reports added that Ramesh made his acquaintances deposit fake Gold ornaments at the bank and brought them crores of money as loan. Reportedly he had invested all the money in the share market and lost them. He also converted the stolen Jewellery into bars that were recovered by the police apart from 2 and a half lakh cash.
