Kerala has been battling heavy rains for the past few days with the casualties being pegged at more than 20. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced a relief package of Rs 5 crore to the neighbouring state from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund on Friday.
Offering his condolences to the people of Kerala, Palaniswami was quoted as saying, "The government of Tamil Nadu stands ready to render any other assistance as may be required by the government of Kerala."
Idukki happens to be one of the most affected districts with the Kerala administration has been grappling with the arduous task of ensuring immediate rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures.
