Kerala Nurse Stabbed To Death And Run Over By Husband Outside Hospital; Police Charge 1st Degree Murder!

In a shocking case, a nurse from Kerala, who was working at a US hospital was allegedly killed by her husband near her workplace at Coral Springs in South Florida. 

The deceased has been identified as Merin Joy, 26, who was from Ooralil house, Monippally, in Kottayam. While her husband Philip Mathew (aka) Nevin, 34, hails from Mannoothara house near Veliyanad in Kottayam. 

According to a New Indian Express report, Merin was stabbed multiple times by her husband Philip Mathew and has been currently taken into custody by the US police.

The fateful incident took place when Merin, who was working at the Broward Health Coral Springs hospital was fatally stabbed by Nevin after her overnight duty at a COVID ward around 7.40 am (5.10 pm IST) on Tuesday. 

While she was walking out of the hospital, the husband stabbed her; and not just that Nevin also drove his car over her out of the hospital. She was later rushed to Broward Health North, but sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, reports of the Coral Springs police, state that the incident is reportedly part of a domestic dispute between the couple. Later that night, Nevin injured himself with the knife after the incident.

When media contacted Merin’s relatives, they said - she was staying away from Nevin, after some issues between them, she was also planning to quit the job at the Coral Springs hospital.

Currently, Nevin has been charged with first degree murder and is in the custody of the US police, New Indian Express further reported.
