Following the intense flooding in Kerala, CM Pinarayi Vijayan sent an SOS to PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and TN CM Edappadi Palaniswami.
The SOS was regarding the rising water levels in Mullaperiyar Dam. CM Vijayan requested the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to release water from the dam as it was close to breaching its 142-feet mark. Kerala reportedly believes that the dam can hold no more.
According to reports, the death toll has increased to 67, with just 25 in the last 24 hours. Kochi Airport was also closed till Saturday due to the incessant flooding.
