65-Year-Old Dies of COVID-19, Death Toll In India Rises To 14
Home > News Shots > India newsWith over 21,000 people dying of coronavirus infections across the world, a 65-year-old man infected with the deadly coronavirus died at Chest Disease (CD) hospital Dalgate, Srinagar early today morning.
This is Kashmir’s first recorded death due to the disease, official sources told Kashmir Glory.
According to an India Today report, the man had a medical history of illness with Sugar, hypertension and obesity. "Despite our best efforts, the COVID19 positive patient at Chest Disease Hospital, passed away due to cardiac arrest. The patient had medical history of prolonged illness with Sugar, hypertension, obesity," they said.
Meanwhile late yesterday night, Ahmedabad reported its second death; an 85-year-old woman died of COVID-19.
India has so far recorded over 600 confirmed cases and 14 deaths in the country despite being put under complete lockdown. While, Maharashtra has the highest tally with 125 cases in India. Highlighting about the Coronavirus globally, Spain has crossed China’s death toll with over 3600 deaths.
