Singer Kanika Kapoor Gets Police Notice After Her Instagram Post on Coronavirus Goes Viral!
Home > News Shots > India newsRenowned Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, recently recovered from the deadly COVID-19. After days of being discharged from the hospital, she took to social media and spoke for the first time about the diagnosis and treatment.
In her statement, Kanika claimed that she chose to be silent as she gave time for the truth to prevail. She took to Instagram saying, “I know there are several versions of stories out there about me. Some of these seem to be fuelled even more because I have chosen to be silent till now. I stayed quiet not because I am wrong but in-fact being fully aware that there have been misunderstandings and wrong exchanges of information."
"I was giving time for the truth to prevail and for people to reach their own realisation. I thank my family, friends and supporters for allowing me the space to talk when am ready. I hope and pray that you all are safe and being careful during this time. Am at home in Lucknow spending some quality time with my parents. Every person that I have come in contact with, be it in UK, Mumbai or Lucknow has shown no symptoms of COVID-19. In fact, all those tested have been negative," her post further added.
In her post, the star also revealed her travel history, where she adds, "I travelled from UK to Mumbai on March 10 and was duly screened at the international airport. I travelled to Lucknow the following day on March 11 to see my family. There was no screening set up for domestic flights. On March 14 and 15, I attended a friend's lunch and dinner. There was no party hosted by me and I was in absolute normal health. I had symptoms on March 17 and 18 so I requested to be tested."
She also asserted to be at home for 21 days now and also thanked doctors and medical staff for "taking care of her during a very emotionally testing time."
A day after the post went viral, Lucknow Police pasted a notice at her house, asking her to record her statement.
As per a Hindustan Times report, the singer, has been currently charged under IPC Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC. Meanwhile, Deepak Kumar Singh, ACP, Krishna Nagar said that the singer will have to come to the police station and give her written statement. Further action will be taken after this.
