Jagan Mohan Reddy's next Athiradi move for government schools and mothers!
Home > News Shots > India newsAndhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a new programme for government school and mothers on November 14.
The Nadu-Nedu Programme will cover the infrastructure, including English Labs to upgrade skills. In the first phase, over 15,000 schools will be targetted and later extend to all schools in three years.
The basic structure includes, toilets, running water, blackboard, walls, etc. For the first phase, the budget is Rs.3500 crores.
“Despite the criticism from detractors, we will go ahead with English medium schools as we have to prepare the students to boldly face and stand up to the requirements of the technology-driven world and we should not be found wanting and feel guilty if the generation next cannot be prepared to face the highly dynamic and technology-driven world," said Jagan Mohan regarding the English medium controversy.
He also said that on January 9, he will introduce Amma Vodi which whill tincentivise mothers to send kids to school and support them till intermediate level. Plans to reimburse fees till college and give 1 year apprenticeship to get people ready for employment are also made.
