Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the state will not support National Registrar of Citizens (NRC), in Kadapa on Monday. "The YSRCP government will not support the NRC at any cost," he assured the crowd.

However, the state government is yet to announce its stance on CAA which it had supported in the parliament.

Earlier, deputy CM Amzath Basha said that the government will not support any move that would be detrimental to the interests of the Muslim community, reports The News Minute.

Quoting Basha, Jagan said "As our Deputy Chief Minister has already made it clear after speaking to me, we will not support the NRC and oppose it. I wish to assure all of you that we will not allow it in Andhra."
