Jagan Mohan Reddy Comes with Drastic Measures to Make Andhra Green!
Home > News Shots > India newsTaking pollution into account, Jagan Mohan Reddy's government decided to impose green tax and ban single-use plastic on Thursday, reports India Today.
He asked the Forest and Environment Department to prepare a proposal to protect environment. "How can our future generation survive if we do not protect our environment and nature? Our state should inspire the nation," a statement read.
He also spoke about the pharma waste - how only 30% of the total one lakh tonnes of waste is being recycled.
Taking note on Vizag, he said "The pollution levels in Visakhapatnam are very high. They should be controlled immediately, otherwise will be severe consequences."
