Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy's Athiradi Order; Restricts Possession of Liquor Bottles!
Home > News Shots > India newsJagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh Government has restricted the number of liquor and beer bottles people can possess at once. According to the new excise policy, keeping more than three liquor bottles or six beer bottles is now punishable.
The policy also restricts the working hours of wine shops to nine hours. The Government has brought alcohol sales under its control and reduced the number of wine shops in the state from 4, 380 to 3, 500.
Permit rooms attached to wine shops have also been restricted keeping in mind the surrounding livelihood.
In addition, the Government has also hired 14, 994 women constables and ward secretariats to keep the liquor sale in check. Senior officials in the government have also been instructed to prioritize complaints by women related to alcohol issues.
