Ahead of the historical moment, ISRO posted a couple of tweets on its official Twitter page. One of the tweets has a set of graphical images which contains the concept of ISRO and the lander of Chandrayan 2, Vikram having a friendly conversation.
ISRO says "It was great travelling with you so far Vikram" and Vikram acknowledges saying, "It was quite the journey indeed! I'll see you around- In the Orbit". In the last picture, ISRO wishes Vikram saying, "Best of Luck Vikram! I hope you reach the South Pole Soon!".
The post went viral on the internet while ISRO also posted another tweet with the video illustrating the journey of different stages of Lander Vikram to the Moon's South polar region. Reportedly the lander Vikram is expected to touch down near the South Pole of the Moon around 1.30 AM- 2.30 AM on Saturday (September 7) morning. Pragyan is the Rover, a 6-wheeled robotic vehicle which can travel up to 500m and uses solar energy for its functioning. It was housed inside the Lander Vikram and communicates with it.
Once the lander Vikram touches down, India will become the first country to land close to the lunar South pole in the first attempt itself. Meanwhile, the mission will also place India in the 4th position followed by the US, Russia and China among the countries that have conducted a soft landing on the moon.
