IRCTC Website Crashes As Booking For Train Tickets Begin, Railway Sets 'New Time'
Home > News Shots > India newsAfter 50 days of lockdown, The Indian Railway was supposed to start ticket sales for the 15 special trains running between different states of the country to help stranded passengers reach home.
The ticket booking which was supposed to begin at 4:00 p.m. today will start at 6:00 p.m because the website of IRCTC crashed soon after it re-opened for online train ticket.
Minutes after crashing, the Ministry of Railways in a statement said that "Data pertaining to special trains is being fed on the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website. Train ticket bookings will be available in a short while. Please wait. Inconvenience is regretted."
