India Becomes 6th WORST HIT COVID-19 Nation; Surpasses Italy's Tally: Check Count!
Home > News Shots > India newsAfter the biggest single-day rise in COVID-19 cases, India overtook Italy's count and became the sixth worst-hit nation by the deadly coronavirus.
India registered a single-day jump of 9,887 coronavirus cases and 294 deaths on Saturday (June 6), which had taken the nationwide infection tally to 2,36,657 and the death toll to 6,642.
According to the data released by John Hopkins University, India is now the sixth-worst affected nation, while the first five are - United States, Brazil, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Globally, coronavirus has infected more than 67 lakh people and nearly 4 lakh people have lost their lives since the outbreak which had emerged in China last year.
