Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and gave the biggest news that the country had successfully tested an anti-satellite (ASAT) missile in space.

On proudly speaking about the country's laurels, PM Modi said that, this missile (ASAT) shot down a Low Earth Orbiting satellite, which was 300 km in the sky as part of ‘Mission Shakti’ adding that the operation lasted for three minutes only.

Further explaining the, Mission Shakti operation, PM Modi said that this operation was led by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, which is aimed at strengthening India's overall security.

Finally making every Indian proud with one statement  PM Modi added that, "India now joins USA, Russia and China with the capability to hit Low Earth Orbit satellite with an A-SAT missile". WOW!!! This just made my day.
This achievement has rightly made India the fourth nation to achieve anti-satellite capabilities after the US, Russia and China.

Minutes after PM Modi's announcement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders congratulated the prime minister for India's success by calling it a historic day.
