In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a pet dog died after left without food for nine days. The pet's owner was booked by the police for starving his dog.

The dog was allegedly seen by the neighbours, tied up in a corner of the untidy balcony. The neighbours tried warning the family to take care of their dog properly. However, despite repeated warnings, the family paid no attention.

The neighbours often tried to feed the dog with bread and biscuits when they heard it bark or whimper. However, around November 19, the dog stopped making sounds. The neighbours then posted photos of the dog and tagged members of the Humane Society International (HSI) India.

Sadly, when HSI member, Teja Panneru decided to visit the scene, the dog was already dead. Panneru filed a complaint with the police and an FIR was booked against the owner of the dog under the Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code (Mischief by killing or maiming cattle etc. of any value or any animal of the value of Rs 50).
