23-year-old man stabbed by his in-laws on busy streets: Horrifying Video Goes Viral
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a tragic case, six persons, including two women, were arrested in Hyderabad on Sunday in connection with the attack on a 21-year-old newly-wed man.
Police said the man was stabbed, allegedly by his 19-year-old wife's relatives on June 7 for marrying her without informing them and for 'maligning' their family name.
According to India Today reports, the couple and their family were returning home that day when the incident took place. The couple got married on June 5 after which the woman left her home and did not return. Following this, her family lodged a missing person complaint with the police. Meanwhile, the couple informed the police that they had tied the knot without permission from their parents following this the parents and some relatives were asked to come to the police station and counselled. The attack took place after they left the police station.
In the video that is going viral, the man is seen being dragged out from his vehicle and stabbed, while the two women are thrashing his mother and wife, before fleeing from the spot. The young woman is also seen crying and pleading with her family members. Many passers-by are seen recording the video of the attack and it had gone viral on the social media.
According to police, the man is out of danger and Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin also visited the young man and assured his family of support from the state government. The woman's father, three brothers and brother-in-law have been taken into custody. The investigation is underway.
