As coronavirus cases are still on the rise in different parts of the country, there are a lot of rumours on social media that the government might impose another strict lockdown across the country in December.

Weeks back, AIIMS Delhi director Randeep Guleria warned the government that a second wave of coronavirus in India might begin soon.

Director Guleria made this statement at a time when the number of corona patients were increasing significantly across the country. He said that due to negligence and air pollution, the infection is rising continuously. People should not leave the house unless absolutely necessary and care should be taken in this situation.

Meanwhile, the government's fact check department--- the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has denied all claims of another lockdown. Clarifying over the issue, the PIB stated that no such decision regarding the matter has been taken.

Even while responding to a tweet that claimed lockdown will be imposed in the country from December 1, PIB clarified saying, ”A tweet allegedly posted by a prominent media outlet claims that due to the growing number of #COVID19 cases in the country, the Govt. is going to re-impose a nationwide lockdown from 1st December #PIBFactCheck: This tweet is #Morphed. No such decision has been taken by the Govt.”

Currently, many countries across the world have imposed a second lockdown because of the possibility of another Coronavirus outbreak. The second lockdown has been imposed in countries like France, Britain while cases are high in Europe and America and also death rates.

France and Germany have less population than India, but the COVID-19 condition is far better in our country.
