The Narendra Modi-led central government has released a fresh new video of the 2016 surgical strikes, carried out by the Indian army on terror outposts in Pakistan. The government has released these new visuals, two days prior to the second anniversary of the surgical strikes.

The footage shot by drones, thermal cameras, and soldiers who carried out the operation, shows the army's assault on a terror launch pad across the Line of Control (LoC). The footage also includes visuals from an overhead Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), and a Pakistani post close to the areas used to push terrorists into India.

The surgical strikes were carried out by the Indian army, weeks after terrorists struck a military camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri sector and killed 19 soldiers.

To commemorate the bravery and valour of the soldiers, the government has organised a three-day event called 'Parakram Parv'. The main event between September 28 and 30 will be organised at the India Gate lawns in Delhi besides similar events at 53 locations in 51 cities across the country to "highlight the valour of the Indian armed forces in general and special forces in particular."
