In a bid to encourage employees to spend enough time at home and maintain a healthy "work-life harmony", Amazon India's head Amit Agarwal has asked all employees to not answer calls and reply to work-related emails after the office hours, over an email.
"No business decision should be made between 6 pm and 8 am," the email read. Amazon seems to be taking a cue from France, which had long back banned work emails post official hours.
However, since its early days, the move is being viewed with scepticism since some of the businesses Amazon India engages with, requires communication with US-based clients and managers.
