Lt Col MS Dhoni Begins Army Duty in Kashmir: Photos Go Viral

As MS Dhoni begins training with Indian Army in Srinagar, a photo of the wicket-keeper batsman has become viral on social media in which he is seen signing a cricket bat.

Dhoni, who is not part of the West Indies tour with Team India will be staying with his 106 TA Battalion (Para) till August 15. He will also undertake duties with the troops as the other army officers.

As per Hindustan Times report, a senior official from the unit said "Lt Col Dhoni arrived here today and has joined his unit."

Dhoni is currently deployed in south Kashmir region as part of Victor Force. He was earlier accorded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2011.

Speaking over Dhoni's security measures, Army chief Bipin Rawat said that "When a citizen of India wants to don the military uniform then he has to be prepared to fulfill the task for which the uniform has been assigned to him. MS Dhoni has carried out his basic training and we know that he will be able to accomplish the task."
