A 22-year-old woman from Delhi committed suicide on Thursday night after being insulted for her body shape. She left behind a suicide note in which she explains how she feels 'caged' inside her body and is insulted everywhere.
Her family reportedly does not suspect any foul play and has alleged that she was unhappy with her extremely thin body. However, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Singh said that body image has not come out as a reason during the investigation.
The woman, an aspiring fashion-designer was found by her sibling hanging from the ceiling fan. In her suicide note she had reportedly written, "She was the bird, with no wings, she wanted to fly, but she had to die."
