Cruise to refund passengers after 1,300 Indian Gutkha company employees create ruckus
Home > India newsThe Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines had to refund their passengers after 1,300 employees of Indian Gutkha company Kamla Pasand created a ruckus on their lavish cruise ship - Voyager of the Seas.
Reportedly, in a short while after the 'Voyager of the Seas' left the port, around 1,300 employees from Kamla Pasand hijacked the ship by taking over the pool decks and bars. The men were on the cruise to attend a meeting but ended up going rowdy.
Women and dancers wearing playboy bunny suits were paraded and made to dance. A few even alleged that the men harassed a few women and took videos of young women. Families were forced to stay inside their rooms to avoid the scantily dressed women outside.
In response to the complaints, the cruise liners issued an apology for the inconvenience caused. However, a representative of Tirun Travel Marketing, the agency through which the men booked a trip on the cruise alleged that the accused created no trouble.
The representative reportedly told The Times of India, "The Indian group was appropriately dressed and didn't create any nuisance. Even if the Indian group created a nuisance, why didn't the Australians complain to the authorities on the ship itself? They complained about it after the trip got over. Of the 3,900 passengers on the ship, it seems that only six Australians had an issue."
