The Puducherry Government has ordered 21 policemen and residents of areas that are identified as contaminated zones to self-isolate.

As of April 5, Puducherry has reported four confirmed cases of Covid-19. While three of these cases have come to light from Ariankuppam, the fourth emerged from Thirubhuvanai.

The areas where the union territory's four novel coronavirus-infected patients either resided or frequented are identified as contaminated zones.

The policemen have been advised to undergo medical examination and screening for COVID-19. In addition, they have been told that the days they spend in self-isolation will be considered as paid leaves by the department.
