Coronavirus Scare: India to Evacuate Citizens from China This Evening?
Home > News Shots > India newsIndia is finally all set to evacuate the first batch of its citizens from Wuhan in central China’s Hubei province this evening (January 31, 2020). The first flight is set to evacuate those from Wuhan and neighbouring areas. Subsequently, a second airline will be despatched to come to the aid of those living in other provinces.
“We are preparing for air evacuation from Wuhan tomorrow in the evening. This flight will carry those Indian nationals who are in and around Wuhan and have conveyed consent for their evacuation,” a message from the Indian embassy said on Thursday evening.
“There will be another flight subsequently which will carry those who are from other parts of Hubei province,” the message, which was circulated via a social media app, WeChat added. However, students have also been told that the plan could 'change'.
It is being learnt that Indians returning from China will be placed in a 14-day quarantine.
At least 170 have died and more than 7,000 affected by Coronavirus in China. China now has more deaths to Coronavirus than to SARS (Severe acute respiratory syndrome), which it battled in 2002-03.
