India Reports 38 Deaths in 24 Hours With COVID-19 Cases Crossing 11,000; Check Top 5 Cities!
Home > News Shots > India newsAs India records more than 11,439 coronavirus cases, the death toll has increased to 377. With the latest updates from the Union Health Ministry, 38 people have died and 1,076 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours alone.
Considering the rise in the confirmed cases and deaths, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an extension of the nationwide lockdown till May 3. He also assured that the restrictions could be eased after April 20 in the less affected parts of the country.
Taking a look at the top five affected states in India with highest cases, Maharashtra stands first with (2,687), then Delhi (1,561), followed by Tamil Nadu (1,204), after that Rajasthan (969) and Madhya Pradesh (730).
Yesterday, more than 1,000 migrant workers gathered outside Mumbai's Bandra station protesting against the extension of the lockdown. They demanded to be allowed to go home, despite several warnings to disperse.
