Congress leader dies of heart attack at the counting centre

In a tragic incident, Congress district president of Sehore, Ratan Singh Thakur, died after suffering a heart attack on Thursday morning amid the counting of votes.

According to IBTimes report, Thakur was present at a vote counting centre in Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency when he collapsed after suffering a heart attack. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. But his health kept deteriorating and the doctors were unable to revive him. Eventually, he died at the hospital.

Media reports further state that, in Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency, Sadhvi Pragya is heading towards victory, leading by almost 50,000 votes over senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. Meanwhile, Sadhvi has exuded confidence saying that she'll win by a huge margin.

The ruling BJP is set to storm back to power with a comfortable majority on its own for the second consecutive time. It is also set to cross the 300-mark along with it allies in the Lok Sabha.
