A class 4 student from Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district was allegedly raped by two teachers including the vice-principal in the sickroom of the institution.

According to the police, the nine-year-old girl fainted in her classroom a month ago. A teacher had sent her to the sickroom and the nurse provided her with medicines containing sedatives. As soon as she lost her conscious, the vice-principal and the class teacher allegedly raped her.

The incident came to light when a few days later the girl’s parents took her to a doctor as she was feeling unwell. The doctor apprehended something wrongdoing with the girl. When asked, the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents on Friday.

Upon complaint from the girl, an FIR was registered at Katras police station against the two teachers, including the vice-principal and the school’s sickroom nurse. They have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.

She underwent a medical test at the Patliputra Medical College Hospital on Sunday and the police have recorded her statement under section 164 of IPC.

“The police are investigating the case from all angles and action will be taken on the basis of medical test,” the Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishor Kaushal was quoted as saying by the New Indian Express.
