After various states have been imposing lockdowns to curb the spread of coronavirus, speculations on a nationwide lockdown is rapidly increasing on social media platforms.

Uttar Pradesh which is the most populous state in India had imposed a 55-hour long lockdown across the state, starting from July 10 to July 13. States such as Bihar, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu have also been opting for strict district border checking, complete lockdowns on Sundays and systematic unlocking during week days.

With almost no signs of reduction, coronavirus cases are rapidly increasing across the country. Similar to the aforementioned states, Bihar has also undergone a complete lockdown, with almost 11 districts including the capital city, Patna.

Following these remarks, various internet rumours have been milling over the central government opting for a total shutdown. However, no official information has arrived as of now.

Earlier, a photo was circulated widely claiming that a nationwide lockdown will come in force from June 15. The fake message has hinted that the Ministry of Home Affairs had announced the same, along with a ban on flights and trains.
