Brain-Dead Youth Donates Hands To Puducherry Man; Saves 7 Other Lives With His Organs
Home > India newsIn a moving incident, a brain-dead youth from Karnataka donated his hands to a man from Puducherry who lost his hands in an accident. His hands were kept preserved in a chemical solution, covered in an ice slush.
The youth, a telecom employee met with an accident on November 15 and despite repeated attempts of saving him, he was declared brain dead on November 19. The youth not only donated his hands but saved seven other lives by donating his liver, heart, kidneys, eyes and heart valves.
His heart has reportedly gone to an 18-year old in Madhya Pradesh who was suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively due to organ enlargement. His liver was donated to 67-year-old in Bengaluru who was suffering from liver cancer. Apart from these, his other organs were also sent to other hospitals for transplant.
