Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan To Be Honoured With India's Highest Film Award

This great announcement was made by Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting on social media. He took to Twitter saying, "The legend Amitabh Bachchan who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #DadaSahabPhalke award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest Congratulations to him."
This prestigious award comprises of a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
It was in the year 1969 that Amitabh Bachchan made his big screen debut with 'Saat Hindustani', ever since it was a no turning back moment for the legend.
He was better known as the 'Angry Young Man' during 1970's who captured the anger of the young generation with films such as "Zanjeer", "Deewar" and "Sholay".
In his career till date, Bachchan has given memorable performances be it any film that he acted in.
