With the rising protests across the country against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), section 144 was imposed in Bengaluru on December 19.

Hundreds of people protesting against it gathered at the Town Hall of the city with flags and placards. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru police kept people aware and updated on social media about the developments and transport service.

Among the many people and their questions, one Twitter user had an interesting one for the police; he wanted to know if December 19 will be a dry day (if the liquor shops would be closed or open?). Without taking much time, Bengaluru police responded to it.

“Sec.144 has been imposed throughout the city. Education, banks, and markets will remain functional. All transport services will be available tomorrow as usual. Don't be in panic,” Bengaluru police tweeted at 10:30 PM on December 18.

The user has been identified as Souvik Chakraborty who said, "Will it be a dry day tomorrow?" To which, Bengaluru police said, "Everything will run normal."

Glad that the police responded, Chakroborty wrote, "Thank you Saaaar, you made my day." This tweet went viral and people praised the police for having no hesitation to this question.
