According to a recent study, it has been found that an average Indian spends around eight hours and 29 minutes watching online video content which is way higher than the global average of six hours and 45 minutes.

Recently, the adverse effects of online videos in India were seen after a man was admitted for addiction to Netflix. The Service for Healthy Use of Technology (SHUT) clinic at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (Nimhans) in Bengaluru admitted that it was the first ever case to be recorded in India.

The patient is an unemployed 26-year-old who watched seven hours of Netflix daily to forget his lifely problems. Binge-watching shows every day disturbed his sleep patterns and caused eye strain and fatigues.
