6-yr-old dies after man sets house on fire

A six-year-old identified as M Prajwal died in Bengaluru after his house was bolted from outside by an unidentified stranger and set on fire. His family members, 38-year-old Mahesh and 25-year-old Jyothi, and his sister, 2-year-old Ankitha, however, survived the ghastly incident. 

The family was rescued after neighbours heard their screams for help and rushed them to a hospital. The incident is reported to have happened on Tuesday night.

"The victims have stated that the house was bolted and lit on fire after kerosene was poured on it. The family has mentioned a relative who they think could be behind this crime and he is absconding since the incident," a police official was quoted as saying.
