‘No Celebrations or Protests’- Security Tightened in Ayodhya ahead of Babri Masjid Case
Home > News Shots > India newsThe long-standing case over the demolition of Babri Mosque in 1992 is expected to see the light of the day within the next 2 weeks of this month according to the sources. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in Ayodhya by the support of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Local Intelligence Unit (LIU).
Earlier the supreme court finished the hearing on October 16 and reportedly the judgement would be announced on or before November 17. According to the Hindustan Times report, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued orders to its cadres to not respond to the judgement either by celebrating or in any forms.
“There will be no grand celebrations or parades if the verdict is in our favour nor will there be protests if it is not. We will not stop people from celebrating at their homes or localities but there is no call for a large-scale celebration,” one RSS functionary was quoted as saying by HT.
It has to be mentioned that the case is regarding the title suit of Ayodhya land - Ram Janmabhoomi or Babri Masjid. Section 144 has already been imposed in Ayodhya by the district magistrate Anuj Kumar on October 14.
The UP's Shia Central Waqf Board also announced not to involve in any forms of celebrations or protests after the judgement.
