AYUSH Ministry asks Patanjali to stop advertising COVID-19 drugs, submit details
Home > News Shots > India newsHours after Patanjali launched what it claimed were the first ayurvedic medicines - 'Coronil' and ‘Swasari’ - for COVID-19, the Ministry of Ayush asked the company to stop advertising the drugs and provide details of the medicines including name and composition.
“Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has been asked to provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment; site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for COVID-19; protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration and results data of the study (ies) and stop advertising/publicizing such claims till the issue is duly examined,” a press release issued by the AYUSH Ministry stated.
Earlier today, Patanjali Founder Swami Ramdev and Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna hosted a press conference claiming the company had developed a medicine that will cure COVID-19.
The company claimed that it had conducted trials that showed that 69% of COVID-19 positive patients turned negative in three days and all patients were cured in seven days.
