Amazon to Enter Indian Food Delivery Market; Report

The food delivery market faced a twist earlier this month when UberEats sold its business to Zomato for a 10% stake in the company. When we thought that the market will be therefore be ruled by Zomato and Swiggy, here comes another twist.

According to the latest reports, the online biggie Amazon is all set to enter the Indian online food delivery space.

“We believe in innovating on behalf of our customers. As part of this commitment, we are constantly evaluating new areas and opportunities to connect with and serve our customers,” an Amazon spokesperson was quoted as saying by HT.

Reports say that Amazon had plans to launch its food delivery entry during 2019 Diwali. However, the plan was delayed and Amazon could launch the service within weeks this month.
