Woman gangraped for 3 hours in front of husband who was brutally beaten up

A woman was allegedly gangraped and brutally hurted while her husband was beaten up by a group of five men near Thanagazi in Rajasthan's Alwar district. The victim has said that the accused dragged her from her neck, tore off her clothes and took turns to rape her.

"They dragged me from my neck, tortured us and tore off our clothes before raping me. They should be hanged," she said, according to India Today reports.

As per the FIR registered by the victim in Gaji police station on April 30, the incident took place on April 26 around 3 pm when the victim, was going to Talvriksha from her village, Lalwadi, accompanied by her husband on a motorcycle.

Her husband has said that the five accused dragged the couple to an isolated place and beat them up brutally. He said, "Then they tore off my wife's clothes and raped her. One of them acted as he was their leader and raped her twice," he said.

TOI reports, according to the survivor's account, the more she resisted the more they tortured her and her husband. The gang rape went on for almost 3 hours.

The FIR said that they made a video recording on the incident and threatened he victims that hey would kill them if they complain to the police. The couple alleged that the accused threatened them and demanded money using the 11 videos they took.

The victim's husband said that he had met the Alwar SP on April 30 and not on May 2, as police had claimed earlier. "I was scared about our honour, so, I avoided going to the police. I met the SP on April 30. On his order, the police acted the next day but FIR was lodged on May 2. Back then, they said they were busy with polls and will act after elections," he said.

The SHO allegedly told the victim that he only had three personnel in the police station and the rest were on election duty. The state government shunted out Alwar SP and suspended SHO late Tuesday night, according to TOI.
