Man Dies Days After Recovering From COVID-19 In Kerala
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a shocking case, an 85-year-old man from Kerala's Malappuram, who contacted COVID-19 earlier, got treated and was cured from the deadly virus. He was currently under-going treatment for kidney and heart-related ailments when he died today at a hospital in the city.
As per news agency PTI, Malappuram District Collector Jafar Malik said, the patient was declared cured of the deadly infection after his last three samples which were taken on April 7, 10 and 13 came out negative.
Meanwhile, KV Nandakumar, Superintendent of the Government Manjeri Medical College hospital, said, "The man was in ICU and was undergoing treatment for coronary artery disease kidney ailment and diabetes."
"He was under observation in the ICU and in the last two days there were lot of complications. Due to his age and earlier diseases the doctors tried their best but he passed away at 4:00 in the morning," Nandakumar added. He further clarified that it was not a COVID-19 related death.
When media asked about the funeral protocol, Malappuram District Collector Malik said as there are restrictions due to the lockdown, not more than 20 people can attend it.
