Home > News Shots > India newsWhile the Vizag gas leak has costed more than ten lives and has left thousands sick, Chhattisgarh has reported a very similar incident from a chemical plant in Raigarh. Reports have said that more than seven workers have been injured.
“Seven workers of a paper mill have been hospitalised after being exposed to a gas leak, reportedly while cleaning a tank in the mill. Three of them are in critical condition,” Raigarh’s Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh said. He also added that the plant’s owner did not inform the police and tried to hide the situation. The police force was informed by the hospital where the workers who were exposed to the gas were admitted.
The leak is said to have started last night when these workers were cleaning the mill. The mill has been closed for several weeks now, followed by the nation-wide lockdown. The mill was expecting to reopen soon. However, a case is now filed by the Police.
