India Reports More Than 9000 Positive Cases & Over 30 Deaths In One Day; Death Toll on Rise!
Home > News Shots > India newsThe total number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed 9,000 while the death toll has also surpassed 300. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, 308 people have died of coronavirus in India with 35 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and death, the Council of Ministers, which is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi came up with a plan to colour-code all districts in the country.
Highlighting about states wise coronavirus cases; Maharashtra stands first with 1,985 then comes Delhi with 1,154 followed by Tamil Nadu with 1,075, while Rajasthan is 804, Madhya Pradesh 532 and Gujarat with 516.
As per a NDTV report, the rise in cases in India were linked to a religious gathering in Delhi last month, which later became as a hotspot for the spread of the deadly coronavirus. This virus which originated in China's Wuhan city last year has infected more than 1.5 million worldwide with more than 1 lakh fatalities.
