2 Students Killed, 2 Severely Injured In Deadly Car Crash: Watch Horrifying Video
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a sad and shocking case, two students were killed after a car in which they were travelling in hit an electric pole in high speed in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar on Sunday.
There were all young boys in the car, two died while two others have been seriously injured and are being treated in the hospital. The boys have been identified as Keshav, 21, Prabhjot Singh, 18, Arshpreet, 19 and Rubal, 20.
As per NDTV reports, the five friends, including the four passengers, had gone on a drive after the birthday party of one of them. The car in which the boy were travelling in hit the post with such force that the front portion of the Honda City car was completely pushed in and the electric pole was uprooted.
In the CCTV grab that is making the rounds on social media, one can see the iron fence that was installed on the road divider was also seen damaged.
Giving more details on the accident, senior police officer Meghna Yadav said all the boys were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi, where Prabhjot Singh and Rubal died. "Arshpreet is a student of Vivekanand College in Delhi University and stays in a flat at Dilshad Garden. It was Arshpreet's birthday celebration on Saturday night. All the friends first assembled at his flat and had a party where they consumed liquor heavily the entire night," Yadav said.
"Later, they all went for a joyride in Lakhshye's car at 5:00 a.m. They also consumed liquor inside the car before it hit the divider, electric pole and signboards and turned turtle. Lakhshye who was at the wheel escaped major injury due to the airbag. He fled from the spot but later in the evening appeared before the investigators," she added.
Further giving more details about the accident, a senior police officer said the driver could have been speeding and lost control of the car. Some liquor bottles and cigarette packets were also recovered from inside the car.
