Men Offer Lift to Minor Girl; Take her to Secluded Spot and Do This!

A 17-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by two men at Maheshwaram in Telangana, the police said. The incident took place on Monday around 8.30 pm.

Reportedly, the girl hails from Jeedimetla in Hyderabad and was on her way to her relative’s house in Rangareddy. When she was standing in the local bus stand waiting for a bus, the two men approached her and said she would not find a bus at that time and offered her a lift in their two-wheeler. They then took her to a secluded spot and raped her.

The incident came to light when the girl approached Maheshwaram police on Tuesday to file a complaint. “The girl reached us out following the incident. We have registered a case under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act and section 376 of the Indian Penal Code,” Maheshwaram Circle Inspector Venkanna Nayak was quoted as saying by TNM.

The police have recorded the statement of the girl and began hunting for the identity of the convicts. “Investigation is underway and the identification of the accused is being done,” Nayak was further quoted as saying.
