Within a few weeks from the ‘Bois Locker Room’ controversy that had taken the country by storm, a similar incident was reported in Uttar Pradesh. A 21-year-old woman was harassed by a Class 6 student, who threatened to share morphed pictures if she did not engage in “sex chat” with him or pay him money.

Ghaziabad’s Kavi Nagar Police reported that that both the accused and the woman were participants of a common student group on Telegram. He had taken the contact number from there and initiated conversations with her.

The affected woman has a BSc degree and is a civil service aspirant. She has submitted screenshots to the police. The accused has declined the allegations saying that his phone was hacked by someone and that he did not send those messages.

The woman has reported that the accused had initiated conversations with regards to academics, initially. However, later on May 17, he had sent morphed images of the woman and threatened her to have a sex chat with him or pay him money. After the woman had told her parents, a complaint was filed in the police station.

Since the accused’s family has claimed that his phone was hacked, the police have involved a cyber team to track the IP addresses.
