Sundar Pichai from Tamil Nadu joined Google in 2004. Gradually, he rose to become the CEO of Google in 2015. In this case, Sundar Pichai, who attended an event at the prestigious Stanford University, talked about the school he attended while living in Chennai.
When Sundar Pichai was elected CEO of Google in 2015, 350 edits were made to his Wikipedia page. In it, he was asked about this at a Stanford University event, where the names of various educational institutions were mentioned as the school he attended.
Sundar Pichai replied, "I studied at Vana Vani School on the IIT campus in Chennai." He also explained that the news that he had attended school from home was incorrect.
He also mentioned that he was the captain of the school cricket team during his school days, and responded with a smile, "It was misinformation, but I really wanted to be (as captain of the cricket team)."
Sunder Pichchai holds a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Gorakhpur and a Masters Degree in Materials Science from Stanford University. He later graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in management.
Initially, Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 after working in the management consulting division at McKinsey & Company. Sundar Pichai was last elected CEO of Alphabet Group in 2019. Notably, Google operates under the Alphabet Group.
